Teresita Ireneo-Manalo came to Canada in 1997. Her first employment was at City University of Seattle in Vancouver starting as Senior Faculty for the School of Business and the School of Education, moving on to becoming the Project Manager and Academic Advisor for the Business Programs, and finally occupying the position of Program Liaison-Canada for the School of Management. At the same time, Dr. Ireneo-Manalo accepted some teaching and coaching responsibilities for New York Institute of Technology and for Upper Iowa University. With a Ph.D. in Educational Management from Angeles University in the Philippines, following upon a M.Sc. in Business Economics degree from Ghent University in Belgium, Dr. Ireneo-Manalo brings a background of international experience and education to Acsenda.
Dr. Ireneo-Manalo has extensive experience in the academic field. Prior to her immigration to Canada, she occupied a variety of academic and management positions including the deanship of the School of Business and Accountancy; deanship of the Graduate School; and then the vice-presidency-Administration at Angeles University. She also held the executive directorship of the Institute for Small Scale Entrepreneurship in Angeles City, Philippines whose many benefactors included Canada Fund. As Executive Director, Dr. Ireneo-Manalo was responsible for the training and micro-financing programs for small and medium-scale businesses of non-governmental organizations (NGO’s) and cooperatives.
Dr. Ireneo-Manalo has published in Educational Journals in her own country and had written feasibility studies and business plans which won grants and endowments from funding institutions including ASHA (American Schools and Hospitals Abroad, USA), SSS (Social Security System, Philippines), IOD (Institute for Overseas Development, Belgium), and SEED (Small Economic Enterprises Development, Germany).
